[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Hotel Shilla announced on the 25th that it will launch summer health food gift sets to revive health and appetite exhausted by the heatwave ahead of the full-fledged hot weather. Hotel Shilla said it has expanded the range of choices by preparing products at various price points, from practical to premium, focusing on high-quality domestic agricultural, livestock, and marine products.

The representative health food introduced this summer is the 'Jeongseon (selecting the best among many) Samgyetang' made with organic chicken and abalone. Jasook refers to ingredients that are steamed in a steamer preheated to 100 degrees after washing, then washed again and refrigerated, which is known to be fresher and tastier than regular frozen products.

'Jeongseon Samgyetang' minimizes the hassle of processing chicken and abalone separately for ingredient preparation. It is packaged together with samgyetang broth containing the experience of Hotel Shilla’s chefs, making it easy for anyone to cook. The hotel stated, "It is a representative summer health food with no likes or dislikes and contains a special hotel recipe, so it is expected to be very popular."

In addition, summer health foods such as 'Subokgangnyeong (long life, blessing, health, and comfort) Extract' and 'Sansam Baeyanggeun' are also introduced. The 'Subokgangnyeong Extract' is a gift set carefully combined with nine ingredients including honey, deer antler velvet, and angelica, and is in extract form, so it can be consumed directly or used as a tea substitute. 'Sansam Baeyanggeun' is the root of wild ginseng cultured and soaked in honey, with a high saponin content, chewy texture, and good aroma.

Hotel Shilla explained that it also paid attention to safe delivery as the COVID-19 situation continues. The hotel said, "The gift sets are delivered directly by delivery staff who have received systematic service training at Hotel Shilla," adding, "Before delivery, personal quarantine measures such as temperature checks, mask-wearing, and hand sanitization are thoroughly conducted." To minimize contact with customers, all gifts are delivered non-face-to-face to recipients.

Orders for Hotel Shilla’s summer health food gift sets are available until June 30, and delivery will be made on July 9.

Meanwhile, hotel gift set sales have increased due to the impact of COVID-19. Interest in health foods has increased, and demand for non-face-to-face and premium gift sets has grown significantly. Hotel Shilla’s gift set sales from January to May this year increased by about 10% compared to the same period in 2019 before the COVID-19 outbreak.
