[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Electronics recently opened its flagship organic light-emitting diode (OLED) TV store, 'LG OLED Gallery,' on the 'Saint-Germain-des-Pr?s' street in the heart of Paris, France, and announced on the 25th that it plans to accelerate its efforts to target the European premium TV market.
The LG OLED Gallery spans one floor above ground and one floor underground. The first floor is designed as a gallery concept, showcasing the next-generation OLED TV, 'LG OLED Evo,' like works of art. In the underground space, various OLED TVs including the LG Signature OLED R and LG Signature OLED 8K are exhibited.
Saint-Germain-des-Pr?s street is densely populated with luxury furniture and brand stores, art galleries, and famous cafes, attracting a large number of visitors. LG Electronics expects the new store, located in a place symbolizing Parisian intellect and culture, to serve as a landmark that introduces premium customers to the technology and beauty of LG OLED TVs.
The LG OLED Evo, first launched by LG Electronics this year, features a next-generation panel with improved efficiency combined with enhanced image processing technology to deliver clear and bright picture quality. It adopts a gallery design that is less than 20mm thick for the 65-inch model (approximately 165 cm diagonal), allowing it to be mounted flush against the wall.
According to LG Electronics, OLED TVs sold in Europe in the first quarter of this year accounted for nearly half of the global shipments. Local media also praised LG OLED TVs. The French technology media 'Les Num?riques' awarded LG OLED Evo the highest rating of five stars. In a TV evaluation conducted by the French non-profit consumer organization 'Que Choisir,' LG OLED TVs ranked from first to seventh place out of a total of 279 models.
Hwang Yong-soon, Managing Director (Executive Director) of LG Electronics France, said, "We will actively target the premium TV market through this landmark store where customers can experience LG OLED TV’s innovative technology and artistic design all at once."
