Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station Launches 'Fire Lane Securing' Campaign at Traditional Markets

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Bukbu Fire Station (Chief Kim Hee-cheol) announced on the 24th that it conducted a "Fire Truck Passage Training" to secure the golden time at disaster sites by ensuring fire lanes within traditional markets.

The training involved five vehicles, firefighters, volunteer firefighters, and related organizations (Buk-gu Office Traffic Guidance Division, police).

Just like an actual emergency dispatch, sirens were sounded while conducting a campaign targeting merchants and citizens in the traditional market to raise awareness about giving way to emergency vehicles. Along with this, fire truck lane securing training was also carried out.

Jo Jong-hoon, Head of the 119 Disaster Response Division, said, "In the case of traditional markets, narrow lanes and large crowds make it difficult to secure the golden time during emergencies. We are continuously conducting training and campaigns, so we ask for the active participation and interest of all citizens."
