[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] On the 24th, the Blue House held a meeting of the NSC Standing Committee chaired by Suh Hoon, Director of the National Security Office, to review the situation on the Korean Peninsula related to the resumption of inter-Korean dialogue.


The Blue House stated, "The participants reviewed the recent situation on the Korean Peninsula regarding the resumption of inter-Korean dialogue and agreed to communicate and cooperate more closely with related countries."

Additionally, the Blue House conveyed, "Based on the enhanced national status and tangible achievements through multilateral and bilateral summit diplomacy such as the G7, follow-up measures will be steadily implemented, and measures to ensure the safety and protection of overseas nationals residing in risk areas, as well as efforts to overcome the domestic COVID-19 situation, will continue to be taken."


Meanwhile, NSC participants confirmed the status of remains excavation within the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), which has been ongoing since April 2019 in accordance with the September 19 military agreement, and agreed to seek expanded cooperation with related countries in the future.
