[Haenam=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Jeonnam Haenam-gun (County Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan) announced on the 24th that on the 22nd, it visited the National Marine Satellite Center under the National Oceanographic Research Institute and held a business consultation meeting to develop tourism content around the Ttangkkeut Tower, located at the boundary point of the southwestern coast.


The consultation was attended by county officials including Deputy County Governor Kang Sang-gu, as well as Im Gwan-chang, Director of the National Marine Satellite Center of the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and Baek Gong-gu, Technical Secretary.


Haenam-gun and the National Marine Satellite Center exchanged in-depth opinions on installing boundary markers to indicate the boundary around the Ttangkkeut Tower, located at the boundary point of the southwestern coast, developing cultural content centered on the Ttangkkeut Tower area, and installing fixed light buoys using piles in the maritime boundary area.


In addition, the National Marine Satellite Center agreed to actively utilize satellite data to support materials that can be used to collect large amounts of waste generated in island areas. They also expressed their intention to prioritize Haenam-gun as a pilot project site for investigating illegal aquaculture facilities through satellite monitoring, and discussed joint cooperation plans including practical consultations and on-site visits to Haenam-gun in the near future.


Going forward, Haenam-gun and the National Marine Satellite Center will continue to hold multifaceted business consultations and do their best to actively cooperate and seek developmental measures for collaborative work between the two organizations.
