[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced that Hi Global Group's small airline 'Hi Air' held a launch ceremony on the morning of the 24th and started operating the Muan?Gimpo route.


The launch ceremony was attended by Governor Kim San, County Council Chairman Kim Dae-hyun, former Jeollanam-do Governor Kim Young-rok, National Assemblyman Seo Sam-seok, County Council members Kim Kyung-hyun and Lee Yo-jin, Chairman Park Il-sang of the Muan International Airport Revitalization Promotion Committee, Hi Global Group CEO Yoon Hyung-kwan, and other officials to commemorate the resumption of the Gimpo route after 11 years.


The aircraft operated by Hi Air is the ATR72-500 model from France, which was modified from the original 74 seats to 50 seats, securing a premium economy class seat pitch of approximately 97 cm, allowing for a comfortable travel experience. Additionally, safety verification has been completed, and the airline received an operation certificate from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.


Accordingly, the Muan?Gimpo route will operate five days a week (Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday) starting from the 24th, and will operate daily from the 1st of next month.


Governor Kim San stated, “With the launch of the Gimpo route, residents of the southwestern region of Jeollanam-do are expected to conveniently access the metropolitan area. We also plan to add a Jeju route in the future, so we ask for active participation in airport usage to revitalize the local economy.”
