Payments to 3,168 Vulnerable Households to Begin Tomorrow
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Cheol-woo) announced on the 24th that it has exceeded its target for the 'Temporary Livelihood Support Fund' by 142%.
The county initially allocated 982 million KRW for the project budget and additionally secured 418 million KRW, increasing the total support fund to 1.4 billion KRW.
Starting tomorrow, 1,659 vulnerable households will receive 500,000 KRW per household, and the remaining 1,509 households, including small-scale farm voucher recipients, will receive 200,000 KRW per household on the 28th.
The county actively promoted and identified eligible recipients to ensure as many residents as possible could benefit from the livelihood support fund system. Originally, the support fund was only sufficient for about 2,000 households, but it was increased to ultimately benefit 3,168 households under the temporary livelihood support fund system.
From the 10th of last month to the 4th of this month, 3,715 households applied for the temporary livelihood support fund. After income and property investigations and review by the Livelihood Security Committee, 3,168 households were finally selected as beneficiaries.
Kim Cheol-woo, Governor of Boseong-gun, said, “I am grateful to the staff who actively worked to identify eligible recipients so that residents can benefit from the system. Although the amount is small, I hope it provides some help to residents struggling due to COVID-19. We will continue to discover welfare blind spots steadily to create a happy Boseong without neighbors being left behind.”
Meanwhile, through active identification of welfare blind spot households, the county previously ranked first nationwide in the application rate for the 2nd disaster relief fund (emergency livelihood support for crisis households) and the increase rate of national subsidies.
The government’s 4th customized damage support measure, the ‘Temporary Livelihood Support Fund,’ is a project that provides 500,000 KRW in cash per household to vulnerable groups whose income has decreased due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and who have difficulty living, but who have not received other COVID-19 damage support.
