SK C&C Builds Customized ESG Comprehensive Diagnosis Platform for Enterprises

[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] SK Inc. C&C announced on the 24th that it will embark on the 'Establishment of a Customized ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Comprehensive Diagnosis Platform for Enterprises.'

SK C&C will first develop an ESG diagnostic program measurable by numbers by combining Samjong KPMG's key industry- and sector-specific ESG evaluation data with the SV (Social Value) performance measurement system.

The SV performance measurement system, currently used by 74 domestic companies, applies value measurement formulas according to detailed criteria in each area such as ▲economic indirect contribution performance ▲business performance ▲social contribution performance, and quantifies SV performance into specific figures.

In addition to the ESG diagnostic indicators and detailed evaluation items applied to the SK Group, industry-specific items will be additionally developed and quantified into an ESG diagnostic program to enhance the reliability of the diagnosis.

Using the Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS), common indicators across all industries such as manufacturing, telecommunications, construction, and public enterprises, as well as industry-specialized ESG measurement indicators and diagnostic logic, will also be developed.

The evaluation items cover environmental areas such as energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, waste recycling, and air pollutant emissions; social areas including corporate data and customer personal information protection, and partner company co-growth; and governance areas such as board policies and composition, ESG performance evaluation, and compensation.

The ESG management portal will also support continuous ESG level improvement. By simply inputting standard data such as energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, member status, and co-growth support status into the portal, users can immediately check ▲numerical evaluation according to industry-specific ESG diagnostic indicators ▲peer industry comparison diagnosis ▲detailed improvement areas.

ESG diagnostic functions covering the entire supply chain, including partner companies, will also be implemented. It will measure the ESG level of partners related to the customer's business and provide improvement areas and enhancement guides.
