[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is publicly recruiting 'Gyeonggi Province Citizen Auditors' with expertise and capabilities.
The number of recruits is a total of 70 in fields such as law, accounting, technology, environment, construction, and health.
Citizen auditors will participate in audits and investigations promoted by Gyeonggi Province according to their specialized fields, performing tasks such as ▲ proposing improvements and requesting corrections for unreasonable systems and practices ▲ verifying and inspecting the implementation status of proposals and corrective measures ▲ participating in audits and investigations related to public interest reports and corruption complaints ▲ participating in the establishment process of anti-corruption integrity policies and providing opinions.
Through the citizen auditor system, the province recovered 4.4 billion KRW in a special audit for omitted tax bases last year and identified 763 poorly maintained automated external defibrillators.
In a recent real estate speculation status audit, opinions on audit targets and methods were collected, and citizen auditors conducted on-site investigations.
Eligibility requirements include residents or workers in the metropolitan area who have relevant professional qualifications and practical experience in law, accounting, technology, environment, etc., or those holding positions of assistant professor or higher at universities or research institutions in related fields.
The province will appoint citizen auditors next month through screening. The term of office is two years from the date of appointment, with one possible reappointment.
Applicants can download the related forms from the Gyeonggi Province website (www.gg.go.kr), fill them out, and submit the required documents via email (lim1@gg.go.kr) by 6 p.m. on the 2nd of next month.
