On the same day at 2 p.m., former Minister Chu held a declaration ceremony at the Ittali Studio in Heyri Reed Square, Paju, Gyeonggi Province, stating, "I will become president and fulfill the grand social reform promised to the candlelight citizens."
Former Minister Chu also said, "In 2017, as the leader of the main opposition party, I asked for the birth of the candlelight government, and with your power, we achieved a regime change after 10 years," emphasizing, "Now, to complete the candlelight reform, we stand at the starting point of the 4th democratic government and the re-creation of the regime."
In particular, former Minister Chu emphasized, "I want to raise Chu Mi-ae's flag toward a world where people are valued more than money, land, power, and ideology," adding, "To create a world where people are valued, I will build a country that elevates people."
Referring to relations with North Korea, former Minister Chu said, "The Biden administration in the U.S. is changing its North Korea policy direction, and the Kim Jong-un regime in North Korea is cautiously showing possibilities," adding, "The best time for 'Peace, Restart' is approaching."
She continued, "The next president succeeding President Moon Jae-in must face this time with prepared insight and a confident attitude," she emphasized.
