[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] The Haman Nongyo Preservation Society held a reenactment performance of actual farming in Haman at the 'Haman Nongyo Experience Farm' on the 19th, allowing visitors to experience the essence of traditional agricultural culture.
During the performance, scenes of actual farming such as barley harvesting, barley threshing, pounding rice cakes, rice planting, and Baekjungnori were passionately reenacted.
Haman Nongyo is a labor song sung by ancestors while working on farms and is designated as Gyeongsangnam-do Intangible Cultural Property No. 39.
Notably, this performance was selected for the Gyeongnam Province Intangible Cultural Property academic survey and documentation project.
The documentation project to create a recorded video of Haman Nongyo aims to preserve the original form of the intangible cultural property and to systematically and comprehensively build and permanently manage traditional cultural content.
At the site visit, County Governor Jo Geunje encouraged the Nongyo members, saying, "I ask the Preservation Society to play a greater role so that Haman Nongyo can shine as a representative intangible cultural property of the Republic of Korea, and I wish all members success and happiness."
