[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] On the 23rd, the KOSPI showed an upward trend, approaching the '3280 level' during the session, supported by buying from individual and institutional investors.


As of 2:01 PM that day, the KOSPI stood at 3279.30, up 0.38% from the previous trading day. The KOSPI opened at 3265.73, up 0.06% from the previous day, and surged to 3281.88 during the session.


By investor type, individuals net bought 36.5 billion KRW. Institutions also showed a buying advantage of 16.4 billion KRW. On the other hand, foreigners net sold 21 billion KRW.


Among the top market capitalization companies in the KOSPI, NAVER and Kakao showed significant gains. Their stock prices soared up to 9% and 6% respectively during the session, hitting new highs. Currently, they are up 6.29% and 8.31% respectively.


Most other stocks also showed upward trends. Samsung Electronics and LG Chem fell by 0.13% and 0.36% respectively. SK Hynix (1.64%), Samsung Biologics (2.01%), and Hyundai Motor (0.41%) rose.


At the same time, the KOSDAQ recorded 1019.80, up 8.24 points (0.81%) from the previous trading day. The index opened at 1012.78, up 1.22 points (0.12%).


Individuals are net selling 139.2 billion KRW. Foreigners and institutions are net buying 94.9 billion KRW and 51 billion KRW respectively.


Among the top 10 market capitalization stocks, there were mixed movements. Pearl Abyss (-0.31%) and Kakao Games (-1.41%) declined. On the other hand, Celltrion Healthcare (3.32%), Celltrion Pharm (4.80%), EcoPro BM (2.39%), and Seegene (22.87%) rose.
