KT Leads Domestic Software Cloud Transition

[Asia Economy Reporter Seol Gina Jo] On the 23rd, KT announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for supporting the cloud transition of domestic commercial software at the Marriott Hotel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, together with the Korea Commercial Software Association, Open Platform Developer Community, and Infranix.

Through this MOU, the four organizations will mutually cooperate in ▲providing infrastructure resources and funding support for the cloud transition of commercial software ▲technical support utilizing the open cloud platform PaaS-TA ▲supporting competitiveness acquisition and laying the foundation for global expansion through cloudification.

First, KT and the Commercial Software Association will promote the first phase of the cloudification project based on KT PaaS-TA targeting about 200 commercial software companies. In the second phase, they plan to expand the number of supported companies and software fields.

KT provides IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) infrastructure and supports companies to use infrastructure at a more affordable price. Infranix and the Open Platform Developer Community will conduct technology and educational activities for cloudification.

Lee Mi-hee, KT Cloud & DX Business Division Head (Executive Director), said, "This cloudification project will increase the number of domestic software that can be registered under the ‘Digital Service Specialized Contract System,’ positively impacting the cloud transition of public institution information systems,” adding, “KT will take the lead in driving digital transformation (DX) across various industries based on its overwhelming cloud infrastructure and technological capabilities.”
