[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] LG Uplus announced on the 23rd that it will operate the ‘U+ Road Online Market,’ which sells excellent products from domestic farms struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic at affordable prices, from the 29th of this month to the 16th of next month.
The online market will be held four times in total on June 29, July 1, 6, and 8. It opens at 11 a.m., with a limited quantity of 2,500 units per product.
On the first day, the 29th, representative products from Gongju, Chungnam will be sold: ▲Eco-friendly Blueberries 500g ▲Gongju Chestnuts 50g x 6 packs. On July 1, representative products from Haenam, the southernmost region, will be available: ▲Chodang Corn 10 pieces ▲Mini Pumpkin 2kg. On the 6th, products that were overproduced this year will be offered: ▲Palbongsan Sumi Potatoes 5kg ▲Muan Fresh Onions 5kg. On the 8th, under the red flavor concept, ▲Jujube Cherry Tomatoes 2kg ▲Uiseong Daeseok Plums 2kg will be available at affordable prices.
LG Uplus will also conduct live commerce with real-time communication. On the 28th from 7 p.m. for one hour, announcer Choi Hee will appear as a show host and pre-sell all products with a limited quantity of 1,500 units per product. Participation is possible by clicking the ‘U+ Road Online Market Live Commerce’ button on the event information page.
Customers aged 14 and older, regardless of their telecom provider, can access the LG Uplus U+ Members application and use the online market service in ‘Members Shopping.’ LG Uplus membership customers will also receive discount coupons that allow them to purchase products at even lower prices. These include a live commerce discount coupon usable during the live broadcast on June 28 and a general sales discount coupon usable from June 29 to July 16.
To celebrate the opening of the U+ Road Online Market live commerce, LG Uplus has prepared various events. During the broadcast, five numbers will be selected, and customers who purchase the corresponding product in that order will receive one additional product of the same kind. Additionally, 100 purchasing customers will be drawn to receive a 10,000 KRW Members Shopping discount coupon. Also, if viewers capture the broadcast screen and upload it on Instagram with the required hashtags (#UplusRoad, #SangsaengSanghoe, #thankuplus), 100 people will be selected to receive coffee exchange vouchers.
Furthermore, LG Uplus will donate 10% of the amount customers spend at the U+ Road Online Market from a separate fund to the ‘Rural Coexistence Cooperation Fund.’ The donation will be used for social contribution projects related to rural areas.

Meanwhile, LG Uplus partnered with ‘Sangsaeng Sanghoe’ for the opening of this U+ Road Online Market. Sangsaeng Sanghoe is a store established by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to support local small farmers and help them find sales channels.
