[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Choyoung] Former Future United Party (now People Power Party) lawmaker Kim Younghwan expressed on the 22nd that he "wants to stop" former Minister of Justice Chu Mi-ae, who officially declared her presidential candidacy.
On the same day, Kim posted on his Facebook under the title "The Chu Mi-ae Flock is Coming, Kkweng Kkweng Kkweng," saying, "Both Chu and I have little time left in real politics."
Kim stated, "Until now, former Minister Chu tried to catch the pheasant called Yoon Seok-yeol, believing that was prosecutorial reform," adding, "However, many citizens think that the pheasant fighting against the living power should not be caught. They believe that 'fighting the living power' is prosecutorial reform."
He continued, "Rather, people are asking to catch the 'flattering pheasant' who clings to power, commits all kinds of privileges and corruption without any remorse or punishment, and the 'pheasant that compromises with fraud and corruption,'" emphasizing, "They are crying out that they cannot live because of the unfair beans pecked by those pheasants."
Kim said, "Anyway, at some point, we started to look at different pheasants," and added, "If this time the judgment and choice of 'Chumae (Chu Mi-ae + pheasant)' are not accepted, beyond the three-times-three-step prostration, this time we will have to perform 'Ochetuji' (full-body prostration)."
Kim also shared an anecdote about the late former President Kim Dae-jung. He said, "When Chu Mi-ae (then a judge) joined the party, I can say this now, but I was instructed to 'promote Chu Mi-ae in the media,'" explaining, "Having graduated from Gyeongbuk Girls' High School and being a female judge, she was probably a good figure to complement Kim Dae-jung's weaknesses, who was older and from Honam."
He continued, "I recall the time when Chu and I opposed the founding of the Uri Party and stayed in the Democratic Party, only to face the impeachment of former President Roh Moo-hyun," saying, "Chu opposed Roh's impeachment as a Supreme Council member but performed the three-times-three-step prostration in Gwangju as party leader. It was truly a heartbreaking and painful time."
