Housing Stability Support for Youth and Newlyweds Facing Employment and Jeonse Difficulties... Email Applications Accepted by District Office Housing Department from June 28 to July 28
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) is recruiting additional tenants for the ‘Sinjeong-dong Customized Community Housing’ prepared to alleviate housing instability for young people and newlyweds who are struggling with employment difficulties and rental housing shortages worsened by COVID-19.
The recruitment targets are non-homeowners registered as residents in Seoul. The youth housing is for unmarried job seekers and early-career workers aged 19 to 35, and the newlywed households are couples married within 7 years or engaged couples.
The income criterion is 70% or less of the previous year’s average monthly income of urban workers. Nine units of youth community housing located at Sinjeong-dong 939-18 and five units of newlywed community housing at Sinjeong-dong 937-17 are being recruited.
Youth and newlywed applicants wishing to move in can download the application form from the district office website from June 28 to July 28, fill it out, scan the completed form along with the required documents, and submit them via email to the Housing Division of Yangcheon-gu Office (snowdrop78@yangcheon.go.kr).
The district office will conduct document screening and select the final tenants in October, proceeding with lease contracts sequentially.
Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “We will expand customized housing welfare projects centered on actual users to reduce the housing cost burden for young people facing more severe employment difficulties due to COVID-19 and to ensure that newlyweds do not hesitate about marriage and childbirth due to housing issues.”
