[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) has been selected as an operating institution for the "2021 Regional-Based Lifelong Education Program Development for Persons with Disabilities" project, organized by the National Institute of Special Education under the Ministry of Education and the National Lifelong Education Promotion Center for Persons with Disabilities.
The district was the only one selected in the Seoul area among the seven nationwide project operating institutions, and will conduct lifelong education institution programs for people with developmental disabilities in the region, contributing to the revitalization of lifelong education for persons with disabilities.
The program operates customized courses such as cooking and physical activity programs, considering the degree and type of disability of the trainees, with classes held twice a week on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5 PM to 8 PM.
Additionally, field trips are conducted biweekly on Saturdays (2 to 3 times a month), providing a foundation for various experiences within the local community.
Education is provided free of charge from June to mid-September at the Gwanak-gu Developmental Disabilities Lifelong Education Center, recruiting 10 adult residents with developmental disabilities on a first-come, first-served basis.
For applications, detailed information, and usage methods of the lifelong education program, inquiries can be made to the Gwanak-gu Developmental Disabilities Lifelong Education Center.
