Suncheon Sarang Academy Hosts Special Lecture on 'Revitalizing Village Education Communities'

Lecture by Kim Tae-jeong, Specialist of Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education Village Education Support Group, on the 25th at 2 PM

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 22nd that it will hold the Suncheon Love Academy under the theme "Current Status and Tasks of Village Education Communities" at the Suncheon Lifelong Learning Center at around 2 p.m. on the 25th.

This lecture will explore the direction of village education communities to overcome the limitations of school education together with Kim Tae-jung, a specialist from the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, and will share vivid stories from the field where innovative education and lifelong education go hand in hand through resident educational autonomy.

The city emphasizes linked cooperation between villages and schools, general administration and educational administration for "Suncheon, a local educational autonomy city nurturing local talents," and is fostering and supporting village education communities. It enacted the Ordinance on the Activation and Operation of Village Education Communities (June 3, 2021) and currently operates 4 village education autonomy councils, 26 village schools, and 4 seed clubs.

Considering the COVID-19 situation, the lecture will be conducted simultaneously as an on-site lecture and online live broadcast. Village education-related workers will participate on-site, and anyone can join the online live lecture by accessing the YouTube channel "Suncheon City Lifelong Education."
