[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] KOTRA announced on the 23rd that it will hold the '2021 Korea-Canada Smart Factory Partnering Briefing and Consultation' online from the 24th of this month to the 16th of next month to support domestic companies in the smart factory sector entering overseas markets.
This event is held to promote joint research and development (R&D), technology cooperation, and parts supply through mutual exchange between companies of the two countries in the era of smart factories, which has gained increased interest due to COVID-19. Co-hosted by KOTRA and the Government of British Columbia, Canada, the event consists of a smart factory briefing and one-on-one video consultations.
The briefing on the 24th will begin with a presentation by the Minister of International Trade of British Columbia on smart factory policies, market status, and government support programs, followed by topics such as the current status and success cases of smart factories in both countries.
Canada is home to companies possessing software technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, while Korea has many companies with hardware technologies including production manufacturing and robotics. Reflecting the increasing demand for technology exchange between companies of the two countries, KOTRA plans to hold consultations between Korean and Canadian companies for joint R&D and technology exchange over three weeks starting from the 28th.
