Doing Our Best to Prevent Inconvenience for Tourists Using Tourism Taxis, Including Producing COVID-19 Prevention Hygiene Kits
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam held a launch ceremony for Hapcheon tourist taxi drivers on the 22nd in the small conference room on the 2nd floor of the county office.
This launch ceremony was held for the four drivers selected through interviews and on-site driving evaluations from applicants who participated in the Hapcheon-gun tourist taxi pilot operation recruitment in April. The event proceeded in the order of progress report on the tourist taxi project, awarding of appointment letters, reading of the resolution, and commemorative photo session.
The four selected drivers visited major tourist sites in person over two days, May 26 and 28, acquiring tourism information and guidance techniques, receiving training on service spirit such as courteous customer response, and safety education for emergency situation handling.
Additionally, to instill the image of friendly model taxi drivers to tourists using Hapcheon tourist taxis, participants wore coordinated outfits that were neat and eye-catching, and wore name badges to provide a sense of trust.
Meanwhile, the Tourism Council is conducting final preparations to fully launch the tourist taxi pilot operation, preparing promotional leaflets and SNS promotions for the tourist taxi, building a reservation website, and producing COVID-19 prevention hygiene kits to ensure travelers using the tourist taxi experience no inconvenience.
Moon Jun-hee, mayor of Hapcheon-gun, urged the appointees, “Please do not forget that you are the face of Hapcheon tourism. I hope you will become not just simple guides to tourist sites but companions on the journey, doing your best for tourists, and strictly follow quarantine rules to operate safely.”
Kang Gil-su, director of the Tourism Council, said, “Starting with today’s launch ceremony, I hope this will be a new challenge that takes responsibility for the safety of Hapcheon travelers and provides convenience in transportation, leading to further growth.”
