[Haenam=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] The Haenam City Tour Bus has established itself as a healing travel product that adds stories to various experiences, moving beyond simple visits to tourist sites, attracting continuous visits from tourists to Haenam.

According to the county on the 22nd, this year, operations were suspended in the first half to prevent the spread of COVID-19, but from the 2nd of next month, the city tour bus will resume operations every Friday to Sunday.

In the second half of the year, the Haenam City Tour Bus is designed as a time to experience various aspects of Haenam with a healing theme for travelers preparing to recover their daily lives after COVID-19.

On Fridays, visitors can experience visiting the 4est Arboretum, where hydrangeas representing summer are in full bloom, and make sweet potato bread, which has become more famous as it is made from Haenam’s specialty sweet potatoes.

The Saturday course includes Daheungsa Temple, designated as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, and a healing forest exploration at Heukseoksan Mountain to heal the mind and body tired from the week. Sunday’s course consists of the representative summer tourist destination Ttangkkeut Village and an exciting clam digging experience.

Especially this year, a city tour bus departing from Haenam Terminal on the first Saturday of every month has been added. The course includes Ttangkkeut tourist sites, 4est Arboretum, and sweet potato bread making, with seasonal course changes planned.

The Haenam City Tour Bus fare is 18,000 KRW departing from Gwangju and 12,000 KRW departing from Haenam (including a 5,000 KRW experience fee, excluding lunch and admission fees), and only customers using the service receive Haenam specialty products.

Reservations are prioritized through online booking (Bus Hanbakwi), and if there are remaining seats, on-site boarding is possible. Operations comply with quarantine guidelines.

Specially, from the 2nd to the 4th of next month, a vaccine incentive will be provided. During this period, vaccinated individuals (eligible for first and second doses) can use the service at a 50% discounted rate for both departures from Gwangju and Haenam. For detailed reservations and inquiries, contact the Kumho Express call center.

A county official stated, “Since the Haenam City Tour Bus, which was very popular in 2020, was suspended due to COVID-19, there were many inquiries about when it would start again. The 2021 Haenam City Tour Bus, now running again, has added and organized various hidden tourist spots and experience courses to promote Haenam’s taste and charm,” and added, “We hope people visit Haenam more conveniently through the city tour bus and feel the taste and charm of Haenam.”
