Jangseong-gun Selected for 'High-Quality Rice Distribution Activation Project'

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 22nd that its integrated rice processing center (RPC) has been selected as a recipient of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' public project, the '2022 High-Quality Rice Distribution Activation Project.'

This project supports the repair and renovation of old dust removal facilities (dust collection facilities) at rice processing centers.

When harvested rice enters the rice processing center, it goes through selection, drying, processing, and transportation stages, during which the dust collection facilities play a role in reducing the large amounts of fine dust generated.

Established in 2008, the integrated RPC is a facility that dries, stores, and processes both conventional and eco-friendly rice harvested in the region, and operates Jinwon and Samgye RPCs as well as Hwangryong DSC (rice drying and storage facility).

Through this public project, the county expects to take a step closer to being selected as one of the 'Top 10 High-Quality Brand Rice of Jeollanam-do.'

It is analyzed that the installation of dust collection facilities at rice processing centers can serve as an additional scoring factor in the evaluation criteria for Jeollanam-do's high-quality rice brand.

A county official stated, "We will reduce fine dust and protect the health of workers and residents by additionally installing bag filters (industrial dust collection devices) within the integrated RPC facilities."
