[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 22nd that it will hold the inauguration ceremony of the "Pocheon Cultural Foundation" on the 28th.

The Pocheon Cultural Foundation is a key pledge project of Mayor Park Yoon-guk of Pocheon. Starting with a feasibility study for the establishment of the cultural foundation in 2019, it received conditional approval for the establishment of the Pocheon Cultural Foundation from Gyeonggi Province in July last year.

Subsequently, the ordinance and articles of incorporation were enacted, and the foundation's executives were organized, completing the approval for the establishment of the nonprofit corporation Pocheon Cultural Foundation on May 31st.

The organization consists of 4 teams with 21 members, but in the initial launch phase, the foundation will operate with 2 teams and 6 members.

The foundation staff will be publicly recruited, with appointment letters to be awarded on the 24th. The secretariat will be located at Pocheon Banwol Art Hall, and under the leadership of the inaugural CEO, Jegal Hyun, the foundation will begin full-scale operations.

The foundation will support cultural and artistic activities such as developing and promoting policies and projects for the cultural advancement of Pocheon, managing and operating cultural and performance facilities, and historical and cultural resources.

The inauguration ceremony will be held with local institution heads, representatives of cultural and artistic organizations, and other guests attending, featuring a plaque unveiling ceremony, CEO inauguration ceremony, and congratulatory performances.
