[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Kona I announced on the 22nd that it has acquired membership in Microsoft Intelligent Security Association (MISA). MISA is an association of security service providers that integrates Microsoft products and solutions to protect information from security threats and provide better security.
Kona I obtained the membership with its fingerprint card equipped with FIDO2 biometric authentication, which allows login to Microsoft Azure Active Directory without entering a password in both cloud and on-premises environments.
Through joining the MISA membership, Kona I plans to integrate its security solutions with Microsoft solutions and provide a wide range of security services.
Kona I’s fingerprint card is a card-type security key that enables user authentication through fingerprint verification, offering high security. It can be used in various environments such as mobile, web browsers, and PCs, and supports multiple communication methods including USB, NFC, and Bluetooth. It also provides excellent convenience by eliminating the burden of password management. Personal information such as fingerprint data is encrypted and separately stored in a chip within the card. The latest security chip is applied, allowing use without concerns about information leakage due to hacking.
Sue Bohn, Microsoft Identity Partner Director, said, “Microsoft has been on a mission to eliminate password entry and support secure information protection,” adding, “We are pleased that Kona I is supporting this goal by integrating their solutions through MISA.”
Jungil Cho, CEO of Kona I, said, “We are pleased to participate in the MISA membership, an ecosystem composed of globally recognized authentication security service providers known for stability and reliability.” He added, “There is high interest and inquiries about the fingerprint card-type security key, and we plan to supply the product to the global market starting with Japan.”
Kona I has completed preparations for mass production of the fingerprint card by obtaining product certification for the biometric authentication standard FIDO2 and Mastercard fingerprint card product certification.
