[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) received the Commissioner of the Ministry of Personnel Management Award for practicing proactive administration.

On the 22nd, KIPO announced that it won the Excellence Award at the '2021 Proactive Administration Best Practice Competition' for its case of 'Providing User-Friendly Electronic Application Services.'

The competition, hosted by the Ministry of Personnel Management, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and the Office for Government Policy Coordination, received 137 cases submitted by central administrative agencies, and the final rankings were determined through evaluations by the public, experts, and presentation assessments.

KIPO's submitted case was highly evaluated for improving the internet electronic application service to allow easy submission of documents such as applications, expanding mobile services, and enhancing the fee payment function.

Kim Heon-ju, KIPO's Regulatory Reform Legal Officer, said, "Reflecting the current situation where non-face-to-face and digital transformation is rapidly progressing, we will continue to actively practice proactive administration on the ground so that the public does not experience inconvenience or difficulties in patent administration."
