[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Yangsan City in Gyeongnam announced on the 21st that it will conduct safety inspections of local water supply facilities until the end of July to prepare for summer disasters.
The inspection targets include 15 local water supply reservoirs, 47 pumping stations, and 22 km of transmission and distribution pipelines, with external experts and management departments conducting joint inspections.
The inspection will focus on ground subsidence, structural safety, electrical and mechanical safety. Minor issues will be repaired and reinforced immediately, and in case of serious problems, emergency measures will be established and addressed.
Kim Yong-gi, head of the Waterworks Division, said, “We will do our best to provide citizens with clear and stable water supply through thorough inspection and maintenance of water supply facilities.”
