[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon Port Authority is conducting the '2021 1st Youth Employment Academy' training for fostering international logistics professionals in collaboration with the Korea International Logistics Association.
The two organizations are launching this project for the first time this year, following a business agreement signed in December last year to foster and revitalize international logistics professionals. The Korea International Logistics Association is responsible for selecting and managing trainees and operating the program, while Incheon Port Authority fully supports the tuition fees.
As a result of recruiting trainees, 61 applied, and 22 were selected after evaluation.
The training will be held from the 21st to the 16th of next month, both at the Korea International Logistics Association training room (Sajik-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul) and online. The main courses consist of 20 programs totaling 160 hours specialized in international logistics, including ▲International Transportation Theory ▲Import/Export and Maritime Forwarding Practice ▲Container Transportation Practice ▲Bill of Lading and Air Waybill Preparation ▲Incheon Customs Special Lecture, among others.
Ahn Gilsup, Head of Social Value at Incheon Port Authority, stated, "This is a practical training course to cultivate logistics professionals, and we will actively support discovering and educating outstanding talents so that they can be connected to employment."
Background Hwan, Vice Chairman of the Korea International Logistics Association (Chairman of the Education Committee), said, "Although the training program supervised by the Ministry of Employment and Labor has been discontinued, fortunately, we were able to continue the international logistics youth employment academy course through collaboration with Incheon Port Authority," adding, "We hope the training program will continue through ongoing cooperation in the future."
