[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Kim Nam-ho, chairman of DB Group, announced that his mother, Kim Jeong-hee, passed away at 6:55 a.m. on the 21st due to illness. She was 73 years old.
The late Mrs. Kim was the wife of former DB Group chairman and founder Kim Jun-ki. She is survived by her son, current DB Group chairman Kim Nam-ho, and daughter Kim Joo-won, as well as her daughter-in-law Cha Won-young, executive director of Cha Bio Group.
Born in Seoul in 1948, she graduated from Gyeonggi Girls' High School and Yonsei University’s Department of Instrumental Music. She was the second daughter among five children of the late Kim Sang-jun, former honorary chairman of Samyang Salt Industry, and the eldest son of the late Kim Yeon-su, founder of Samyang Group.
The funeral is being held at Seoul Asan Medical Center Funeral Hall, Special Room 20. The funeral procession will take place at 10 a.m. on the 23rd, and the burial site is the family cemetery in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province. The funeral will be a simple family ceremony according to the wishes of the bereaved family, and condolences and floral tributes will be respectfully declined.
