Soonchul Cyber University (President Han Heon-su) invited Lee Young-hyun, Honorary Chairman of the World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations (World OKTA), known as the "Legend of Trade," to hold a special lecture by a distinguished guest.

On the 16th at 2 p.m., at the Soonchul Cyber University Jongno Campus seminar room, with President Han Heon-su, Vice President Jung Byung-wook, Planning Department Head Lee Jung-jae, professors, and many staff members in attendance, a special session was held to hear about the 40 years of trade know-how and experiences of Lee Young-hyun, a first-generation Korean trader who founded the trading company "Youngri Trade" in 1966 with just 200 dollars and grew it into a large distribution company with annual sales exceeding 100 million dollars.

Chairman Lee Young-hyun is a pioneering figure in the trade industry, known as the "Great Merchant of Korea," who has traveled the world for over 40 years distributing and selling only Korean products, promoting the excellence of domestic products worldwide. As a founding member of the World Federation of Overseas Korean Traders Associations (World OKTA), the largest economic organization of overseas Koreans, he served as its 12th chairman and established the "Next Generation Trade School" in 2003 to lead the training of future generations.

In recognition of his contributions to the development of Korea's export economy and enhancing the nation's prestige, he was awarded the "Order of Civil Merit, Moran Medal" in 2002. In 2012, he became the first Korean to receive the "Jubilee Diamond" medal awarded by the British Queen to citizens of the Commonwealth who have made significant contributions in various fields, and in 2019, he was awarded the Canadian Senate Medal commemorating the 150th anniversary of Canada's founding.

During the lecture themed "Made in Korea - Korean Youth, Never Be in Pain!", which is also the title of his book published in 2019, Chairman Lee shared vivid stories of the numerous hardships he faced during a time when awareness of Korea was severely lacking, describing it as "heading a ball on bare ground," but how relentless challenges and passion enabled him to reach his current position. He then delivered a message of hope and encouragement to younger generations living in the present, along with timeless success formulas, eliciting strong responses from attendees.

At the end of the lecture, Chairman Lee emphasized, "The times are moving much faster than before. With the full-scale advent of the 4th Industrial Revolution, IT has long become a thing of the past. Now is the era of DT, which is why attention is focused on AI (Artificial Intelligence), big data, and so on. We must be part of the changes in the world and not fall behind. This is an era where missing out means the end."

Meanwhile, Soonchul Cyber University, celebrating its 24th anniversary this year, is a regular four-year higher education institution where students can complete all credits required for a bachelor's degree and various nationally certified and school-accredited qualifications solely through online classes and exams. It offers tuition at about one-quarter the cost of typical offline universities and operates various on-campus scholarship programs, including admission, general, academic, clergy (pastors, evangelists, missionaries, preachers and their families and congregants), military scholarships (for officers and military families, veterans), corporate-sponsored education scholarships, scholarships for the disabled, and equal educational opportunity scholarships, supporting students to continue their studies without financial burden.

Additionally, aiming to provide scholarship benefits to all students, the university supports all on-campus scholarship recipients with dual benefits from the Korea Student Aid Foundation's national scholarships and operates a specialized program allowing students to take major courses free of charge for life, both during enrollment and after graduation.
