[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] Accuon Savings Bank and Accuon Capital announced on the 21st that they supported the replacement of eco-friendly boilers for energy-vulnerable groups.
On the 18th, the two organizations held the '2021 2nd Eco-friendly Boiler Support Donation Ceremony' at the Songpa Senior Welfare Center in Songpa-gu, Seoul, with officials in attendance.
This is part of an agreement signed in March between Accuon and the Seoul Metropolitan Social Welfare Council. The core of the agreement is to replace old boilers with eco-friendly boilers in 40 energy-vulnerable households in Seoul. The project is scheduled to proceed quarterly, replacing boilers in 10 households each time, for a total of four rounds by November this year.
Before the donation ceremony, the two organizations accepted applications for eco-friendly boiler support until mid-May. Among these, 10 households were selected and supported with replacements after the ceremony. Currently, a total of 20 households have been supported, and 34.5 million KRW out of the 69 million KRW donated by employees and the entire company has been spent.
In the third and fourth quarters, boiler support will also be provided to energy-vulnerable households selected through screening. The scope of recruitment and eligibility will be expanded. Eligibility is limited to households with income within 65% of the median income according to the Ministry of Health and Welfare standards.
Gil Gwang-ha, Chair of the Social Contribution Operations Committee at Accuon Capital, emphasized, “We will strive to engage in social contribution activities that contribute to the local community and protect the environment, such as the eco-friendly boiler support project.”
