China Surpasses 1 Billion COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Administered... Hopes for 'Coronavirus Herd Immunity'

According to major foreign media on the 20th, the National Health Commission of China (NHC) announced that the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered on the mainland reached 1,010,489,000 as of the previous day.

The NHC stated, "The large-scale vaccination is the result of the collective efforts of all Chinese people."

With a population of 1.4 billion, China plans to vaccinate 70% of the eligible population by the end of this year. China is administering domestically produced COVID-19 vaccines targeting individuals aged 18 and older. This month, the vaccination target has been expanded to include infants and students.
