The funds raised through cost-saving measures on operational expenses by the chairpersons and standing committee heads will be delivered to vulnerable groups and neighbors in need within the community via the Community Chest of Korea

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The Seocho District Council (Chairperson Kim Ansook) donated 15 million KRW to the Community Chest of Korea on the 18th to help neighbors in need.

The donation ceremony took place in the council reception room with Chairperson Kim Ansook, Vice Chairperson Choi Jongbae, Chairperson of the Administrative Welfare Committee Lee Hyunsook, Chairperson of the Finance and Construction Committee Oh Secheol, and related officials in attendance.

The donation, raised by reducing the business promotion expenses of the chairpersons and each standing committee chairperson, will be delivered to vulnerable groups and neighbors in need within the region through the Community Chest of Korea. The Seocho District Council has been donating funds annually to help neighbors facing difficulties in the local community.

Chairperson Kim Ansook said, “With the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, we gathered the hearts of all Seocho District Council members to donate funds in hopes of providing some help to vulnerable groups and neighbors in difficult situations. We hope the culture of sharing through donations will continue to spread, and the Seocho District Council will take the lead in practicing love for our neighbors.”
