[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) is planting summer flowers and creating flower beds on major streets of Naman New Town to welcome the summer season.

According to the county on the 18th, 467 street flower pots were arranged and 25,700 summer flowers including Sanpachens, marigolds, cockscombs, and petunias were planted in three street flower beds so that residents exhausted by COVID-19 can find comfort by seeing the fully bloomed flowers.

In addition, 3,204㎡ of white daylilies were planted on the Daejukdo riverside, and 11,172㎡ of fallow land near Lotte Mart was sown with buckwheat seeds.

On the 17th, about 20 members of the Samhyang-eup Residents' Autonomy Committee started cultivating the flower beds in Central Park to transform Naman into a flower garden full of colorful flowers, planting four types of flower seedlings including hydrangeas.

Going forward, the county plans to create flower beds using impatiens and volcanic rocks in Central Park so that residents visiting the park can use them as photo zones.

Governor Kim San said, “I hope the beautiful summer flowers will provide some comfort to the residents of Naman who are tired from COVID-19 and city life,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to provide various attractions and beautiful scenery to the residents.”
