Global business platform STX Co., Ltd. announced on the 21st that it has recruited Donghwan Oh, former Executive Director and Head of Business Planning at Isu Chemical, as Executive Director in charge of overall business operations. This move is interpreted as a reinforcement of capabilities to accelerate the strengthening of future business competitiveness and the discovery of new growth engines.

According to STX Co., Ltd., Executive Director Oh will oversee all departments from new business planning and sales to management, finance, and accounting. Based on his experience leading future strategy formulation and new business development in various fields such as petrochemicals, energy, and plant industries, he plans to realize sustainable and stable growth for STX.

Executive Director Oh graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He is known in the industry as an expert in energy, chemical, and land/marine plant business sectors, having mainly been responsible for business planning and new business discovery at S-OIL, STX Group, and Isu Chemical.

In particular, from 2005 to 2014, he served in various roles at STX Group including Chief Secretary to the Chairman, Head of Business Development, Head of Strategic Business Division, Head of Plant Business Planning at STX Offshore & Shipbuilding, and Head of Management Planning Division. During this time, he was responsible for formulating growth strategies for the entire STX Group and developing and promoting new businesses.

STX Co., Ltd. expects Executive Director Oh to be a great asset in diversifying STX’s business portfolio by capturing opportunities amid global environmental changes, given his extensive experience in petrochemicals, energy, shipbuilding, and plant sectors, and his expertise in discovering and commercializing new businesses. Furthermore, having led STX Group’s growth in the past, he has a deep understanding of STX’s business and organization, making him the ideal candidate for the role of Executive Director in charge of overall business operations.

Known as a passionate baseball enthusiast who has consistently enjoyed baseball from his youth in little league teams to current amateur adult baseball teams, Executive Director Oh plans to actively support hobbies and in-house club activities enjoyed by STX employees, aiming to strengthen cooperation between organizations and foster solidarity among employees.
