Gyeongnam Province Reports 7 New COVID-19 Cases: 4 in Jinju, 2 in Yangsan, 1 in Changwon (Comprehensive)

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced that as of 1:30 PM on the 18th, 7 confirmed cases occurred since 5 PM the previous day.

By region, there are 4 in Jinju, 2 in Yangsan, and 1 in Changwon.

All 4 confirmed cases in Jinju were contacts of confirmed cases within the province and were classified as numbers 5032 to 5035.

The Jinju quarantine authorities confirmed that one person who tested positive on the 17th after symptom onset was a patient hospitalized in a medical institution in Jinju.

Accordingly, a full inspection was conducted on a total of 304 people related to the medical institution. As a result, 4 additional confirmed cases were found.

Among the 2 confirmed cases in Changwon, one was a friend of a confirmed case from another region and tested positive in a pre-release quarantine test, classified as number 5028.

The other was a coworker of a confirmed case related to the metropolitan area and tested positive, classified as number 5036.

Among the 2 confirmed cases in Yangsan, one was a family member of a confirmed case from another region, tested due to symptom onset, and classified as number 5031.

The other was an overseas entrant who tested positive and was classified as number 5037.

The 2 confirmed cases in Geochang were family members of confirmed cases within the province and were classified as numbers 5029 and 5030.

The 1 confirmed case in Gimhae tested positive during a test for hospitalization and was classified as number 5027.

Accordingly, the total cumulative confirmed cases in the province increased to 5,034 (150 hospitalized, 4,867 discharged, 17 deceased).
