'Emperor of the Sandpit' Lee Mangi, Why Did He Show His 'Calf Muscles' in Changwon?

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 17th that a special lecture by famous Ssireum wrestlers was held on the 16th at Masanhappo-gu Office to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the opening of Masan Museum.


The first lecturer of the famous Ssireum special lecture, Professor Lee Mangi, gave a lecture titled "Self-Challenge Toward the Top" to about 90 people including the general public.


Professor Lee emphasized strong competitive spirit and relentless effort as the driving forces behind his record of 49 championship titles and a total winning rate of 86.5% during his 7 years as a professional athlete.


As evidence, he directly showed the participants his large left thumb specialized for grasping the satba (belt) and his well-developed calf muscles.


During the Q&A session, he demonstrated the difficulties faced by student Ssireum wrestlers. Afterwards, he took "motivation certification photos" with aspiring Ssireum wrestlers.


Additionally, through an anecdote about rejecting a love call from the Japanese mixed martial arts world to protect the pride of Ssireum imbued with the spirit of Koreans, he revealed his identity as a "Ssireum wrestler to the bone."


Meanwhile, on the 30th, "Bearded Champion" Lee Seungsam, on July 21, "Master of Unorthodox Ssireum" Mo Jeuk, and on July 28, "Bongo Champion" Kim Jongyeol are scheduled to give Ssireum special lectures.
