[Gangjin=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Jeonnam Gangjin-gun announced on the 17th that it will carry out the program "Finding the Way at Myungbaldang Exile Site" from the 19th to the 20th for 1 night and 2 days as part of the project to utilize traditional houses and ancestral homes.

This program is a project conducted by the Cultural Heritage Administration to recreate local traditional house cultural assets as spaces where history and tradition can be learned and enjoyed. Participants will stay overnight in Gangjin, retrace the exile path that Dasan walked in Gangjin, and reexamine the hidden stories through a humanities perspective.

Yun Seoyu (1764?1821) of the Haenam Yun clan, the owner of Myungbaldang, had a close relationship with Dasan Jeong Yak-yong. The connection between the two families began when Jeong Yak-yong's father, Jang Jae-won (1730?1792), served as the governor of Hwasun and traveled to Yeondong, Haenam, staying at the villa of Yun Gwang-taek (1732?1804) of the Haenam Yun clan.

Also, while Jeong Yak-yong was exiled in Gangjin, Yun Seoyu sent his cousin Yun Si-yu to support Jeong Yak-yong both materially and spiritually.

Yun Seoyu sent his eldest son Yun Chang-mo (Yun Young-hee, 1795?1859) to study at Dasan Chodang and in 1812 arranged a marriage between Yun Chang-mo and Dasan's only daughter, becoming in-laws with Jeong Yak-yong. Between Yun Chang-mo and Dasan's daughter, Yun Jeong-gi (1814?1879) was born. Myungbaldang is the place that symbolizes the fruit of the relationship between Yun Seoyu and Dasan.

During this event, participants plan to visit not only Myungbaldang but also Saejae, Yeongmodang, Dasan Chodang, Baekryeonsa Temple, and Baekundong Garden, places closely related to Dasan.

For the general public, lectures on Dasan's practical learning, traditional tea ceremony experiences, and letter writing with brush calligraphy will be held. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, thorough preventive measures including compliance with quarantine rules will be implemented.

County Governor Lee Seung-ok said, "Through this cultural heritage utilization program, it will be a time to discover the cultural heritage value by unfolding the stories hidden in Myungbaldang, Chuwondang, and Yeongmodang as narratives."
