Gyeongnam Province, International Development Cooperation Projects in the Hands of Residents

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 17th that it will implement a citizen-participatory public-private partnership international development cooperation (ODA) project for poverty reduction among vulnerable groups in developing countries for the first time this year.

The citizen-participatory public-private partnership international development cooperation project is promoted to enhance the internationalization capabilities of citizens and elevate the province's international status by increasing the participation of excellent private organizations in the province in international development cooperation projects.

Eligibility for application requires nonprofit corporations or nonprofit private organizations located in Gyeongsangnam-do that have at least two years of experience in carrying out international development cooperation projects as of the announcement date.

Universities and companies can participate as consortia with nonprofit corporations (private organizations).

The target projects are non-religious, non-profit, and non-political international development cooperation projects aimed at eradicating absolute poverty and securing the right to survival in the poorest countries.

Projects aligned with government policies (New Southern Policy, New Northern Policy, Digital and Green ODA) and provincial tasks (youth participation), as well as creative projects reflecting the changed international situation such as COVID-19, will be given priority during evaluation.

Applications can be submitted in person or by registered mail to the Gyeongsangnam-do External Cooperation Officer on June 30 and July 1. Detailed information can be found on the Gyeongsangnam-do website.
