[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced that three outstanding cases in the data dam sector, including CU Box, Infinic, and T3Q, were selected as excellent examples of the Digital New Deal in May.

The selected outstanding cases are companies that contributed to building a data economy, consisting of two cases that enhanced public safety and convenience through the construction of AI learning video data, and one case that expanded AI utilization for small and medium-sized enterprises through the establishment of a big data platform, totaling three cases.

First, CU Box provided facial recognition solutions to major security facilities by building a face anti-spoofing dataset through the ‘AI Learning Data Construction Project.’ In particular, by constructing approximately 110,000 video data, it has contributed to improving the completeness of domestic facial recognition technology.

Infinic participated in the AI Learning Data Construction Project and the ‘Road Irregular Feature Recognition Information Open DB Construction Project’ (Ministry of the Interior and Safety), building 12.64 million sports video analysis datasets and 31 types of autonomous driving irregular datasets totaling 750,000 images. Through this, it provides learning datasets necessary for AI technology development to SMEs and startups, contributing to the advancement of the domestic AI industry.

T3Q participated in the ‘Lifelog Big Data Platform Construction Project’ to build a big data platform used for customized medical care and public health improvement. Through the ‘AI Manufacturing Platform Construction Project’ (Ministry of SMEs and Startups), it established a platform that allows SMEs to easily utilize their own data, playing a significant role in revitalizing the data market.

Park Yoon-gyu, Director of the Information and Communication Policy Office at the Ministry of Science and ICT, stated, “We will continue to discover and promote outstanding cases in the Digital New Deal sector, and actively inform the public about the growth of our companies through the Digital New Deal policy.”
