Yangcheon-gu Recruits Students for Future Technology Education in 4th Industrial Revolution Including Metaverse and Virtual Reality


[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) is recruiting participants for a 6-week future education program on 4th industrial technologies, including metaverse, virtual reality (VR/AR), 3D printing, and convergent coding, until the 30th of this month.


This course, piloted for the first time this year, is designed as a 6-week program that actively reflects the changing times and lays the foundation for enhancing capabilities in future technologies, focusing on 4th industrial technologies that are gradually becoming deeply integrated into daily life.


The course consists of four parts: ▲‘Creating a virtual world beyond reality’ Metaverse ▲‘Let’s create a new world online’ Virtual Reality ▲‘Making what I imagine into reality’ 3D Printing ▲‘Art meets coding’ Convergent coding easily learned through block coding.


Education participants are adults residing in Yangcheon-gu, with 10 spots available on a first-come, first-served basis for each course. Residents wishing to participate can apply for the course through the integrated reservation portal on the Yangcheon-gu Office website by the 30th.


The classes will be held over 6 weeks during July and August at the Yangcheon-gu Lifelong Learning Center, Baeumnanum School, with a tuition fee of 15,000 KRW for the 6 weeks.


Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, stated, “In addition to this 4th Industrial Revolution technology education program, the Yangcheon-gu Lifelong Learning Center offers existing cultural and liberal arts programs as well as various humanities lectures, so we hope many residents will show interest and participate.”
