Lotte Mart will prepare 40 tons (100,000 units) of live Canadian lobster shipped directly by air starting from the 17th and will hold the "Lobster Part 2 Event."
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte Mart announced that starting from the 17th, it will hold the second lobster event by preparing 40 tons (100,000 pieces) of live Canadian lobsters shipped directly by air.
This event secures an additional 40,000 lobsters compared to the first lobster event, and customers can purchase them at 10,900 KRW per lobster when paying via Lotte Mart GO scan payment with the event card.
Previously, on the 3rd, Lotte Mart prepared 24 tons (60,000 pieces) of live lobsters directly imported and air-shipped, selling them at about a 50% discount compared to the regular price. Within two days of the event, the 60,000 pieces, which were prepared based on a one-week sales forecast, sold out completely, showing great popularity.
Since 2018, Lotte Mart has been operating by directly sourcing and air-shipping lobsters. By direct sourcing, they reduced intermediary margins and prioritized securing quantities of around 400g per lobster, which is the most preferred size among Koreans.
A Lotte Mart representative said, “Now is the best time to enjoy high-quality lobsters at the lowest price,” adding, “Since we have secured sufficient quantities, we hope this will be an opportunity to enjoy live lobsters at a reasonable price.”
