[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the morning of the 16th, Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, visited the demolition site of the Hwikyung 3 District Housing Redevelopment Project, scheduled to begin construction this year, to conduct a safety inspection aimed at preventing accidents at the demolition site.

After inspecting the site, Mayor Yoo urged all related personnel to pay special attention to comprehensive safety management.

Prior to this, Dongdaemun-gu began safety inspections on the 14th to prevent accidents at demolition sites. The inspections included checking compliance with the demolition sequence outlined in the demolition plan, the appropriateness of structural reinforcement installation, the condition of temporary fencing installation, and thorough safety checks of the surrounding environment such as pedestrian paths and bus stops near the construction site.

Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol stated after inspecting the site, “Due to growing concerns about safety at demolition sites recently, we conducted this inspection,” and added, “We will conduct thorough safety inspections at all construction sites in the area to ensure the safety of residents and do our best to prevent accidents.”
