[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] On the 16th, Aekyung Industrial held a donation ceremony for the ‘2021 Cheer Up! Seoul Sharing Campaign’ at Seoul City Hall together with the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest.

Through this donation ceremony, Aekyung Industrial delivered daily necessities such as laundry detergent and shampoo, as well as cosmetics, worth approximately 5.2 billion KRW based on consumer prices. The supported items will be distributed to welfare facilities within Seoul and low-income vulnerable households through the nonprofit organization Hope Sharing People.

Since 2012, Aekyung Industrial has been supporting low-income groups in Seoul through the ‘Warm Companionship, Beautiful Sharing’ project in partnership with the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest, marking its 10th year of assistance to neighbors in need within Seoul this year. To date, it has donated goods worth approximately 26.3 billion KRW cumulatively.

Attendees at the donation ceremony included Aekyung Industrial CEO Jae-young Lim, Seoul Mayor Se-hoon Oh, Chairman Young-seok Yoon of the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest, and actress Hyun-young, the public relations ambassador of the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest, among other officials.

An Aekyung Industrial representative stated, “We decided on this support to practice love and respect, which are both our mission and corporate philosophy, and to help the disadvantaged neighbors in Seoul even a little.” He added, “We will continue to spare no support to stand with marginalized groups in need, believing that small acts of love create a more beautiful society.”
