Soongsil University Advances to Phase 2 of the Korea Research Foundation HK+ Project

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The HK+ Project Group of the Korean Christian Culture Research Institute at Soongsil University announced on the 16th that it has signed an agreement with the National Research Foundation of Korea to proceed with the second phase of the Humanities Korea Plus (HK+) support project.

Since 2018, the HK+ Project Group has been researching the process through which modern Korea was formed amid historical upheavals such as colonization and division since the opening of ports, under the theme "Humanities of the Modern Transition Space, Metamorphosis of Culture."

The HK+ Project Group shares its research achievements in various ways, including publishing five SCI-level papers and 59 papers in domestic journals. It has published 23 volumes in four planned series: Humanities Series, Translation Series, Data Series, and General Knowledge Series. It also expands its academic network by hosting domestic and international academic conferences annually. Additionally, it leads efforts to establish a humanities education system in local communities by operating regional humanities centers.

The regional humanities centers communicate with local communities by holding various lectures to convey the significance and outcomes of the research conducted by the HK+ Project Group. In collaboration with Yeoju City, starting this July, they will hold four lectures on classical literature from textbooks under the theme "Visiting Youth Humanities Concert ? Approaching Humanities through Classics" at Yeogang Middle School and Yeogang High School.
