Exhibition at Buk-gu Cultural Platform until the 17th

‘Gupo Market Eco Jewelry Product Design Exhibition’ Opens … Busan Institute of Science and Technology and Buk-gu, Local Commercial Revitalization Project Eco Jewelry Product Design Exhibition jointly held by Busan Institute of Science and Technology and Buk-gu.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Universities and local governments are jointly carrying out projects to revitalize local commercial districts.


Busan Institute of Science and Technology (President Kang Gi-seong) is holding the "Gupo Market Eco-friendly Jewelry Product Design Exhibition" in collaboration with Buk-gu, Busan (Chief Jeong Myeong-hee) until the 17th.


The exhibition is part of the "2021 Community Win-Win Cooperation Support Project" hosted by Busan City and the Busan Talent Lifelong Education Promotion Institute.


Busan Institute of Science and Technology and Buk-gu were selected in April for the "Gupo Market and Gupo Station Area Commercial District Revitalization Program" and have been actively promoting the project.


The exhibition, held at the Buk-gu Cultural Platform, is supported by the Gupo Eum Urban Regeneration Field Support Center, Gupo Market Merchants Association, and Gupo Station Area Commercial District Merchants Association, with participation from professors and students of the Design Department at Busan Institute of Science and Technology.


Local professional designers including Lee Won-gyun, Kim Jeong-sook, Kim Ik-hwan, Kim Kyung-jun, Kim Mi-jin, Lee Byung-du, Jang Yuri, Go Min-ji, and Heo Nan-gyeong have generously contributed their talents to support the exhibition.


Motivated by the theme "ECO?Eco-friendly," this exhibition showcases pet jewelry product designs using eco-friendly materials in line with the "Pet-friendly Center Construction Project" currently being promoted in Buk-gu.


Jeong Myeong-hee, Chief of Buk-gu Office, said, "We are renewing the old and unpleasant image of the Gupo Open Market and promoting regional innovation linked to the natural resources of the Nakdong River and the eco-friendly Pet-friendly Center," adding, "We hope this exhibition will be the starting point of significant change and ask for residents' interest."


Professor Kim Hak-jin, who is in charge of the exhibition overall (Professor of the Design Department at Busan Institute of Science and Technology), said, "To create jewelry product designs with practicality and marketability, we collaborated with professors from the Real Estate Distribution Management and Mechanical Engineering departments of our university to enhance completeness."
