"Defconn Appears"... CU Launches Interactive Web Variety Show 'Ssweoperman' CU introduces the convenience store web variety show 'Ssweoperman (CUperman)'.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] CU announced on the 16th that it will launch a convenience store web variety show called 'Ssweoperman (CUperman)'. Ssweoperman is based on the concept of the universe's first traveling convenience store. Rapper and entertainer Defconn carries products actually sold at CU in his backpack and sells them to citizens he meets on the street.


Customers who purchase products receive a 1+1 benefit where Ssweoperman Defconn grants them one wish as a bonus. At the end of each business day, depending on customer satisfaction, mobile product exchange vouchers are gifted to subscribers of CU's official YouTube channel, CUtube.


CU appointed Defconn, nicknamed the "communication pigeon" and "arm people," as the first Ssweoperman, expecting him to showcase a communicative variety show with his friendly and witty talk. The Ssweoperman teaser video uploaded on the 9th, titled "CU Defconn Store is Coming to You," surpassed 33,000 views in just three days.


The first episode of Ssweoperman will be uploaded on CUtube on the 16th. In episode 1, Defconn, dressed as Ssweoperman with CU's BI color purple hat, T-shirt, and flag in Yeonnam-dong, Mapo-gu, actively sells snacks, ramen, pet supplies, and more to citizens he meets on the street, showing a friendly side by even listening to their concerns. Ssweoperman can be watched every Wednesday at 6 PM on CUtube.


A BGF Retail official said, "Above all, as the MZ generation, which values fun and communication, has become the main consumer group of convenience stores, we planned this program to convey CU's image as a friend," adding, "CU will continue to maintain close communication with customers like good friends through diverse content."
