Expansion of Automatic Brine Spraying Devices and Establishment of Real-Time Snow Removal Cooperation System Using SNS Stand Out

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) was selected as an excellent district in the work improvement category in the Seoul Metropolitan Government's '2020-2021 Winter Snow Removal Measures Implementation Evaluation.'

This evaluation reviewed the winter snow removal projects carried out from September last year to April this year, targeting a total of 32 institutions including 25 autonomous districts of Seoul, road business offices, and the Seoul Facilities Management Corporation.

The evaluation focused on 12 items across five areas: plan establishment, snow removal equipment management status, snow removal agent procurement and usage performance, snow removal response capability, and snow removal measures involving citizens. The assessment was conducted through three rounds of performance data review and on-site verification.

The district received high marks for various efforts to enhance snow removal capabilities, such as expanding the installation of automatic brine spraying devices for rapid initial snow removal, improving snow removal and brine replenishment operations using water spraying vehicles, and establishing a real-time snow removal cooperation system using SNS between the district situation room and community centers.

Additionally, the district achieved the remarkable feat of being selected as an excellent district in the snow removal field by implementing efficient work improvements, including improving the storage method of snow removal agents in snow removal boxes to suppress indiscriminate personal use by residents during heavy snowfall, and conducting snow removal on side roads through equipment support.

Thus, the district has proven itself as an excellent autonomous district in the snow removal measures field by being selected three times: as the best district in the comprehensive evaluation category in 2017/2018, as an excellent district in the comprehensive evaluation category in 2018/2019, and as an excellent district in the work improvement category in 2020/2021.

Meanwhile, despite the geographical conditions with many sloped road sections causing significant inconvenience to residents due to snow, the district is thoroughly committed to snow removal work by maintaining real-time preparedness through CCTV during winter snowfall forecasts, as well as rapid snow removal operations and emergency system establishment during heavy snowfall.

Mayor Park Jun-hee said, "This award in the comprehensive evaluation of snow removal measures is the result of the efforts of the employees who worked tirelessly day and night during winter and the cooperation and participation of the residents in snow removal operations," adding, "We will continue to do our best to create a safe city Gwanak where residents can live with peace of mind."
