[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Park Yong-jin, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea who declared his candidacy for the presidential election, said on the 15th that he could "expose the true nature" of Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung and former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl if given an hour each.

On the same day, Park appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' and said about Governor Lee, "His stance on constitutional amendments, pardons, and real estate policies, which change according to political advantages and disadvantages, needs to be scrutinized."

He added, "Where else is there such an important policy agenda as constitutional amendment?" and criticized, "However, (Governor Lee) seems to consider it merely a matter of livelihood, a secondary issue, which is wrong." He also directly criticized, "It is disappointing to see him back away from the pardon issue of Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong (Samsung Electronics) as if being cautious like a rich person."

Furthermore, Park said, "It is absurd to see him leading efforts to cut taxes by claiming that vacation homes are essential goods," and "He is the same person who previously threatened that Gyeonggi Province officials at grade 4 or higher who own two houses should prepare for personnel disadvantages. Showing different attitudes at different times must be thoroughly examined."

Meanwhile, regarding the internal party debate over postponing the presidential candidate primary, Park expressed frustration, saying, "It's frustrating. Preparations should have been made earlier."

He pointed out, "Even now, there is confusion over who will lead the presidential planning team, which is frustrating," and "The public is not curious about who the head of the presidential planning team is, but who the Democratic Party's presidential candidate is."

He continued, "People care more about who the boxer stepping into the ring is, rather than who the promoter organizing the event is," he questioned rhetorically.
