Baedal Minjok Recruiting Participants for Eco-Friendly Education 'Green Class' for Restaurant Owners

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Baedal Minjok is launching an eco-friendly education program for restaurant owners to reduce food waste and plastic trash generated from delivery food.

On the 15th, Woowa Brothers, the operator of Baedal Minjok, announced that they are recruiting participants for the eco-friendly education program "Green Class" for restaurant owners in collaboration with the Resource Circulation Social Solidarity. This program was prepared to raise environmental awareness among restaurant operators and to provide easy-to-implement eco-friendly know-how.

The Green Class consists of a YouTube live special lecture, three sessions of non-face-to-face online education, and a campaign with the participants. The live special lecture scheduled for the 8th of next month will feature comedian couple Kim Won-hyo and Shim Jin-hwa, who run a snack bar, along with Kim Mi-hwa, director of the Resource Circulation Social Solidarity, to emphasize the importance of eco-friendly management.

From the 16th of next month, the online education will be held in three sessions, covering understanding and practical methods of environmental management that can be maintained in restaurants, and sharing know-how to reduce food waste and plastic trash. Through cases practicing eco-friendly management, the program will also explore eco-friendly management plans tailored to the characteristics of each store.

Additionally, as part of reducing small plastic containers and food waste, a pilot campaign called "Choose Basic Side Dishes" will be operated. This campaign is designed to reduce food waste and disposable product use by providing only the necessary side dishes when ordering delivery food. Participating owners will set the "Choose Basic Side Dishes" option in the Baedal Minjok application for three weeks and maintain it for one month.

Anyone can apply for this Green Class through the Baemin Academy website, with separate applications for the YouTube live special lecture and the non-face-to-face online education.

Kwon Yong-gyu, Head of Value Management at Woowa Brothers, said, "The goal of this education is to strengthen eco-friendly awareness among restaurant owners through the Green Class environmental education and to lead them to practice by presenting various methods that can be implemented in stores." He added, "We will strive to discover and share cases of restaurant owners practicing eco-friendliness to encourage more owners to participate."
