Donation of 300,000 Disposable Masks Worth 114 Million Won...To Be Distributed to Vulnerable Groups Including Disabled and Seniors Participating in Former Job Projects
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Kyum-su) held a mask donation ceremony on the 14th at the Gangbuk Culture and Arts Center plaza in collaboration with the Gangbuk-gu Community Security Council.
The donated items consisted of 300,000 disposable masks worth 114 million KRW.
Jungwoo BNC (CEO Lee Jung-woo) delivered the goods through the Gangbuk-gu Community Security Council. CEO Lee said, "We prepared these items to help neighbors struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic," adding, "We will continue to lead as a company that practices sharing in the local community."
The donated masks will be distributed to vulnerable groups such as elderly participants in the district's job projects and people with disabilities. Last November, the Gangbuk-gu Community Security Council also received 5 million masks and distributed them to 100,000 residents around hilly areas where slip-and-fall accidents on icy roads were a concern.
Park Yong-ok, chairperson of the working council, expressed gratitude, saying, "We thank Jungwoo BNC for their warm-heartedness during these difficult times," and added, "We hope the donated items will help residents' safety and health even a little."
Mayor Park Kyum-su of Gangbuk-gu, who participated in the ceremony, said, "Although COVID-19 vaccinations are progressing smoothly, wearing masks will still be necessary at least until early next year," and added, "The donated items will be a great support to the residents. We thank everyone who participated in the donation."
